I have worked as a Personal Financial Advisor for the last ten years in the greater Portland area and have successfully helped investors navigate both good and challenging markets. I continue to love, listen, and learn and it has been a privilege to watch my clients meet their financial goals through our teamwork. I look forward to getting to know you, your unique scenario and seeing how best to be of service.
At Price Financial Group, I am surrounded by talented, dedicated, creative people that genuinely care about the clients we serve. PFG also uses industry-leading technology, a wide range of financial products, and we hold ourselves to the highest fiduciary standards. PFG gives me the flexibility and confidence to seamlessly work with other professionals, so I am happy to connect with your attorney, tax professionals or anyone else important to you on your team.
Numbers have always been a constant in my life (pun intended). I grew up with a stockbroker father and a math teacher mother so there was always a math or logic narrative flowing through the house. Mr. Foster, at The Thacher School, was an exceptionally creative and enthusiastic math teacher who helped develop my strong link with math and science.
I attended Tulane University where I studied Marine Science and Business and enjoyed all that New Orleans offered. After graduating from Tulane, I worked for NOAA as a Marine Biologist and underwater videographer and reef designer. Eventually, I earned my US Coast Guard 100-Ton Captain’s Certificate and my SCUBA diving instructor and explored many amazing places in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and South Africa, eventually moving to the Big Island, Hawaii.
I lived for almost a decade in Hawaii where I had the opportunity to teach many people to dive, explore the reefs, volcanos, and jungles. I also had the privilege of working as the Area Director for Special Olympics West Hawaii where we enhanced the community through awareness in schools and athletic competitions across the Hawaiian Islands. Having the ability to help people and find active solutions to more joy is my jam!
After many years and my body growing tired of working full-time on boats, I earned a teaching credential through the University of Hawaii and became a middle school math and science teacher. After meeting my wife Katie and enjoying several years together in Hawaii, we decided to start a family and relocate to Portland for more opportunities and longer road trips. I decided it was the right time to explore financial advising since I have always enjoyed helping others, working with numbers, and fostering long term relationships.
When away from the office and not hauling and cheering on my 2 kids at Hockey, Soccer or Skyhook, I find myself playing with my dogs or working in the garden. When the Ross family adventures out, we can be found kayaking, biking, hiking, skiing or basically anything outside the PNW has to offer. Along the way there will be reading, plenty of picture taking, creating beautiful art (thanks Katie!) and plenty of good tunes.
